I would say I'm very intersted in World War 2. Also the cold war can be interesting to read about, but there's just something about WW2 I find fascinating. Like why did it happen?

That's pretty much what happened after WW1 =/

The period 1919-1945 is most fascinating period indeed, theres much to learn from it.

I like 20th century for obvious reasons (its the century I was born in and it shaped the way the world is today)... but I'm also quite interested in Spanish Medieval History, concretely about the Islamic Empire in the Peninsula

I like learning about most periods equally as much, however, i like Modern (aka 20th century) history the least. I'm not sure why.. I think its because I like to learn what happened, why it happened, what effect it had etc... But with modern world history theres just too many dates. Anything before 1900s happened so long ago noone remembers the exact date, so theres less to learn.

Yeah x]

The "Belle Epoque" (1880-1914) is an interesting period in European history. Menacing international relations, but artistically brilliant, and a fascinating society to read about.

The time since the French Revolution (and some years before) until now is my favourite period. Then there is a gap, I am not so interested in until back to Luther's times to Charlemagne.
My special intrest lies in how the "normal" people lived and it's horrific sometimes to read this.

I am most interested in Ancient Greece. The time wherein the Greeks dominated the land. It's just cool how they fought for their city states... and their way of thinking is very interesting.

Hmm, I'd say the period (roughly) between 700AD and 1066AD because it was "The Viking Age", and quite simply I find the Vikings fascinating.

maleneanderthaler | 13 September 2008 - 8:11am

I have several periods.
1)The Viking age because their way of living is quite interesting for the "modern" human.

2)1885 - 1950: A period wherein a lot did change in the world. The "invention" of communism, the unification of Germany, both World Wars, The hyperinflation and its effects on everyday life, and so many more interesting things.

I have always felt a fascination for the "Victorian" era, or the years around 1850-1900. I love the feeling of the unsurpassed speed of technical development, the new optimism and the beginning of a new type of world!

Another period of time, a bit more dated, that I like is renaissance. Probably because of the same reasons that I like the victorian era, except that the Renaissance's development was artistic and philosophic rather than technical.

Hell, lets write a third period as well, eh.. No, I can on for a along time... Like the early medieval times, feudal china... But let's settle for the two I written. =)

(Please, I'd love some "mail friends", so if you think that I seem like decent guy, write to me. I said mail friends, nothing more, heh.)
