Blind Faith

Often here in MF there are comments about people blindly following their religion. I have been wondering..... Is there anyone that really follows and believes everything exactly as their church teaches? For myself, I believe the Bible 100% and try follow it..... But I don't agree with everything that I hear being taught in church. How about you?

But you did write that “ l believe in Bible 100% .”

l guess the teachers' knowledge in church came from the Bible... right?? Very happy

yes...I did say 100% My point is that I don't follow something just because a teacher or preacher tells me to. I do follow the Bible and will continue that as it has proved itself to be reliable.

Funny thing is, LL, few people can split their religion from their God, they tie themselves to a church or group, many a time their God comes secondary to their church, I’ve often found the most, Christian, Godly individuals are those who do not align themselves with a church or sect and have a personal relationship with their personal God…..

I don't follow anything but my own common sense. There are a lot of things I hear coming from the Bible I totally disagree with. It's just a book, not the word of God. Books are written by men. Everyone got their own interpretation about faith. For me, I rather stay away from church and the Bible. I listen to what my common sense tells me, which makes me rather open about certain subjects others judge about.

One has to be very careful when joining any group or church. You will find many Christians, myself included who are non-denominational, that don't define themselves as a certain "religion" or denomination such as Pentecostal, Baptist, Protesant, etc. Going to church is great but even some churches have some funny ideas, and the way people should behave, then it becomes legalistic and not scriptural. Church is really just a place to fellowship with other Christians(which we are called to do) and to worship and praise God. This is another reason why I, personally do not affiliate myself, with any particular church or denomination, and use the bible as my guide.

Exactly, when I would go to church, many grunts and groans could be heard all through the church on exactly what was being said by the priest of the religion's interpretation of bible excepts.

Some religions are a good basis, giving a proper direction, on how to live a Godly life, but also many carry their power a bit too far and some of their followers don't make a move in life without the wholly consent of their paster.

Now since we got all that out of our system, maybe we could show a little respect to the poster and stay on his intended topic.

Yes..... very good! There is so much else besides the Bible. Families, friends, nature, pets, science.... There is no end to other things to be part of our lives and make each of us who we are. The Bible is just one of many things in my life.

I say that if faith is true it is from heart.

To say "I follow the bible, I don't follow any church" does not make much sense, does it? Who selected the books that make up the bible? The church did, and also excluded from the canon other books (the apocrypha). So after all those who follow the bible follow what the religious establishment wants them to follow.

The church did? No, Godly believers did. And its a decision reviewed by Bible scholars over the years. With a few exceptions, scholars through the ages are pretty much in agreement.
Its amusing that you are so adamant that christians follow rules from a church. There likely are some people like that. But most of us are flesh and blood like you. We are able to discern and question, in fact i often hear pastors say that they don't want you to believe something just because its spoken from the pulpit. You are welcome to join me in almost any christian church. You might be pleasantly surprised at the diversity.

If your faith has truly and wonderfully transformed your life then that faith is not blind.

Pietro... no, I hadn't heard anything about that. But it doesnt surprise me.... Someone is always trying to figure a new slant on things. For myself though... I think I will stick with the belief Revelation is about the future
