Can you see a time when humans will begin to colonize other planets. I dont mean go out and visit. I mean breed and live lifetimes on them? Build cities and communities etc

Sci-Fi stories from 1970s ans 1980s expected this to happen early the 21st century.. and as everybody can see, we are still living on Earth, struggling for Oil resources, and just know a little about Mars..

I think close expectations will not be probable.. so, I expect it not to be before the beginning of the next century.

At the rate things are going right now, I don't see it happenning in near future.

I cant see cities and communities as in lets say Star Trek but there's an urgent need to send a lot of trash away on loooooong interstellar missions, to dig for dirt on Zeta Riticuli 6 or something...

Of course I can see a time. I just don't really know when that time will come. We could be on Mars, already, if we really really really gave a damn about it. Much more easily, we could have a permanent colony on the moon by now. Wouldn't be easy, but the technology is there.

within our sun-system may be some scientific research outposts but not what Mean Kitteh meant.
