Who would it be?

Obviously they can be living or dead.

I'm tempted to say Ernest Hemingway but I couldn't keep up with his pace of drinking. I wouldn't mind bumping into Marilyn Monroe Wink

maleshaka | 2 June 2008 - 6:56pm

Too many to list them all, I fear. However...Einstein, Russell, Tolkien, Nietzsche, George Lucas, David Gilmour and Syd Barrett and...well, also my grandfather, who died a few months before I was born.

Genghis Khan and Alexander the Great. Leaving aside their terrible moral side, they offer examples of how much a human being can achieve when they never give up in the face of obstacles and dare to do things that most people wouldn't. Examples of positive thinking and persistence.

Didn't they usually hack obstacles to pieces though?

Hmm...I see I've been misunderstood. What you say is true, that's why I said "leaving aside their terrible moral side", to point out one positive aspect: not giving up in the face of difficult situations. It's the attitude of not feeling defeated when everything seems too hard that I consider positive, not the things they did with this attitude.

Make him write my speeches, I like his style when speaking too, reminds me of Ian Curtis spasmatic performances in Joy Division, priceless

It's not that I'm overly religious but I'd like to meet Moses, Jesus Christ, Buddha, Mohammed and some of their fellows. I would try to see what was in their conduct that sparked such following and also to let them know that more people were killed in their name and for their teachings than for all other causes combined.

maleGerman-boy | 11 June 2008 - 11:14am

If I could meet any famous person from History I would choose Napoleon, because he has a very interesting history in France.....After I would choose Albert Einstein, because he is a brilliant professional. Crazy life^^ And in 50 years the people would choose me, because I´m a brilliant politician Razz :P *joke*
